Found another model with gorgeous long nail bed today to play with french sculptured nails. I must say that for Asians, majority of the Japanese ladies are blessed with such beautiful nail beds !

Know Your Heart

This is a very good article. Not only about the warm water after your meal, but about Heart Attacks. The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals, not cold water, maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating.
For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

Common Symptoms Of Heart Attack...
A serious note about heart attacks - You should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.
You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive.

The Finished DIY

So I went home on Friday and started the headband which was suprisingly easy to create if you have a penchant for patience. Which I don't have, however for the purpose of creating something truly cool and original I decided to knuckle down and by Saturday I had a finished masterpiece. Note: It actually only took me about an hour to achieve! Very quick and easy!

Tomorrow or the next day I'll show you all, the cool skirt that I made for a free dress day at school recently.

@Work with Sculptured Gels

Tried out sculpting really long with gels today, something which I normally only do with acrylics. Turned out better than expected and I had a gorgeous hand model.

Trivial Persuit

OK ok, I know it was only just yesterday that I said "it" bags were over so I'm going to say that the Hermes Birkin and Kelly bags are completely iconic and therefore not "it". Which is why I'm about to show you the most incredible Hermes handbag collection EVER!

These photos were sent to Bag Snob by a Katherine L. who is the owner of this private collection.

As much of a Birkin fan as I am, I can admit that some of these are completely foul-did you see the fluro green number?-and I also happen to think that having so many is incessantly rediculous! Who is ever going to use that many? Despite this I am also in love with the classic Birkin's such as the black aligator and the brown ostrich skins-but I am conflicted with the animal rights issue in this- which are just so beautiful and luxurious.

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

Image: Gemma Ward for Louis Vuitton (old campaign), Christopher Kane (Top left) Rodarte (Top right)

IT BAGS ARE OVER! This season hailed the new fashion high, that of which takes the shape of a scarily vertiginous climb, loved by many a dwarf. That is, the 8-inch heel (or thereabouts) complete with free life insurance, should you find yourself tumbling to an imminent death on impact with the bare concrete, which will be far below your new sky scrapers.
The shoes also come with the number for an information hot line-should you have any difficulty with said sky scrapers- which is patched through to your nearest model expert-Australia's being Abbey Lee and Canada's, Jess Stam.

Enjoy!

Is Ed Hardy Nails Hot or What???

It all started with an idea by Joseph and Gina, then Gina did a whole set on herself and by coincidence NAILS magazine had Ed Hardy nails on their October cover. Now, my first attempt doing a tattoo inspired EH nails and I think I could actually wear this !LOL....

The Last Emperor

Holy Macaroni I had no idea that there was going to be a Valentino movie!!!! How exactly did I miss this? Anyway Britt over at Fashionista went to see the movie, entitled Valentino: The Last Emperor, and seemed to enjoy it which makes me positive that this will be such a great fly-on-the-wall look into the processes of such a genius! I can't wait for it to reach Australia, or is it here already? I've been trying to find out but with no luck, so we'll have to wait and see!

French Sculptured Nails

It drives me nuts everytime I do acrylic french sculpture nails because I get bored halfway through. It definitely keeps me on my toes to get it technically perfect which I'm still practising to this day.

Folkart to decorate your homes and nails

This is my attempt at russian inspired folkart. I wish I have time to paint the walls of my room, but I guess it's much easier to paint it on nails.

Wine N' Roses

These are such fun to create, I started out thinking uhmm...maybe just one or two flowers, but turned out all 10 isn't really too much! It'll grow on you !

Priceless in Cincinnati !

Nail craze doesn't get better than this...(Loni passed out while we were doing her nails at 3am). Loni is such a trooper, we love ya and Gina multitasks efficiently between applying gels, filing loni's nails and still being able to take this video. This is what happens after hours when nailtechs get together on a trip. I love it !

Australia. Home of the Supermodel.

This cover is INCREDIBLE! Plus there's more to it, it's a FOLD OUT, so the fun doesn't just stop there!!! I bought it the other day only because of the cover, I think this may be something I'm not meant to admit out loud (at least not near my mum). It includes SAA's favourite top models, Miranda, Catherine and Abbey. I've also been liking Elyse Taylor lately as well, however there is no way in hell that I condone the use of Sarah Stephans. Aurgh. Uck. No. Why does anyone even like her(she's on the fold out with Abbey)?

...and another one bites the dust

So here it is, Abbey falling at Rodarte:

The poor thing, I mean come on those shoes were INSANE! Everyone has been saying how crazy the shoes were this season so it's no wonder that so many girls took a tumble this season. Apparently Chanel, Natasha and Jourdan all fell this season! This could possibly be a fashion record for the number of casualties on the catwalk!!

Where's Wally/Catherine?

Another one of our favourite model's here at SAA, Catherine McNeil, has noticibley been abscent from the recent bout of European shows, missing both Milan and Paris. Catherine's agent Kathy Ward of Chic Management (also Abbey Lee's agent so this woman must have been pretty busy of late!) said that everyone had blown it out of proportion and that Catherine had a number of lucrative and large advertising contracts coming out in the approaching weeks. One of these being the face of Maxmara's newest fragrance. McNeil's grandmother has even spoken from her home here in Brisbane stateing that,"She's just burned out". Rumours from industry insiders have said that McNeil has just become very homesick.

Whatever it is I'm sure Catherine will look fantastic in whatever new campaigns she is said to be starring in because after all Kirstie Clements summed it up beatifully when she said that, "She’s so far up the tree, it wouldn’t matter (if she missed Milan and Paris). She really only does the top-level stuff now and she’s got some big advertising campaigns booked”.

McQueen's plot against the Models.

Images: Abbey Lee Kershaw at Alexander McQueen
Source: Frockwrtter

"As she was coming off the catwalk she began to take tiny steps as she felt she was going to faint and she did just as she came off,'' said Mrs Ward."The corset was incredibly tight but she was absolutely fine afterwards and even continued to appear at more show.''

This was the comment made by our favorite Aussie model, Abbey Lee's agent, after fainting at the recent Alexander McQueen show. Now I of course wasn't there to witness the catastrophe however frockwriter appears to have a number of eye witnesses including Ali Stephens who came running out to her mother asking her if she saw what had happened after saying that Abbey was alright.

One witness said,
"When she was coming to the end [of the runway], back near the [entrance] ramp, I could tell she was having difficulties, because her steps were getting shorter and shorter, they were more like baby steps. I was reading her face and I could see 'struggle' all over it and I was thinking, 'She's not going to make it'. But then she made it to the top of the animals and I thought she was OK, that's why I turned my back on her to to go back to the main room."

To put all of this in perspective, take a look at these painful photos taken backstage of fellow model Jourdan Dunn. Dunn had to be stitched into her catsuit and was in obvious agony during the process.Images: Jourdan Dunn backstage Alexander McQueen
Source: Bryanboy

It does not take a genius to realize that the girls in this show were forced to endure much more than the usual feet crippling, vertiginous heels and that any man who wants to force women back into the bone crushing corsets of decades past, is a completely delusional moron! Yes that's right, I just called Alexander "the great" McQueen a moron, and until he decides to be a little more realistic about his approach to women's bodies, I most definitely will not be supporting anything that he produces!

Now that I've had my rant, go ahead and tell me what you opinion is!

Looking back....

Looking back at some of my older works, I realized the change I've gone through in my style and perception. Every class I attend or teach, through the people I meet in my work and travels, they bring changes to what I create. Change is good and exciting and never stop learning and loving what you do.
