Dreamy Lilac Flowers!

its a rather simple and elegant set for bridal photoshoot (:

i love chatting with brides.. looking at them prepare for their wedding,

all the hard work put in is worth it! (:

Black or White

this is a set of manicure done with black and white flowers! (:

EZ FLOW AND YOUNG NAILS CLASS

What a month March has been. It's hard in WA to find extra education and this month I was lucky enough to attend two classes. To top it off both instructors used me as a model. The nails pictured with the flowers are from EZ flow and the other two pictures are from Young Nails.

Young Nails came to Seattle and we did a back fills for thrills class. Very interesting way of doing back fills, I'm going to have to practice these techniques. I learned how mylar and mixed media can be utilized into colored acrylics, stellito's all I can say is fun fun fun. Could things get any better...well it did.

EZ Flow came to Tacoma and I had a ball !! Color fade acrylics, 3d flowers, roses, edge nails, and impressions. Ohh and did I mention embeddings. My brain is on overload and I cannot wait to get behind the nail table to practice.

Blue Inlays!

everytime when my customers choose to do inlays,
they will want inlay flowers on maybe 2 - 4 fingers (:

seldom i have customers who will request inlays on all 10 fingers :

cos it has this layered effect but the nails are thin at the same time!

ps. this set of nails came back 2 weeks later with everything intact! especially the pair of cows! i took soo long to pluck them out!

Favourite Product of the Month

Looooove this nailbed coverage pink from ONS - Duvet Pink acrylic powder. Took just 30 minutes from start to end sculpting using Duvet Pink, file and one coat of UV gel top, cure 2mins to get this natural finish. Definitely a lifesaver for quick fixes!

Roses & Butterflies

i did some handmade roses~

i love pastel colours (:

a lil off topic but i realise none of my customers chose my silver butterfly.. lol~

i love the roses! took me quite sometime to finish this but im glad i managed e timing quite well! heehee~

the shimmery base colour is nail polish from Eternal, its one of my favourite choices of colours for bridal nails (:

Listening to the Beach Boys when I should be reading about Georg Simmel and his theories on fashion and social class is incredibly procrastination-al of me. Especially since it is actually interesting but does anyone else get completely psyched out and scarred when they have a LOT of reading to do? I just get completely intimidated which makes me want to avoid it despite how interesting/fun it may be. Wow now I sound like some silly ninny. That sentence didn't help my case. Stop writing. Now. bldjkfj398udfjia*&.

Education

March is a busy month for me, as business is picking up again I am looking forward to perfecting my skills with a couple of classes. First is on the 21st I will be attending Young Nails Backfills for thrills. All I know of this company is some of the advertisements I see in all my trade mags. It will be fun learning about a new company and meeting new friends in the nail biz. I can't wait to hear what they have to say.

Then on the 29th I will be attending a design acrylic class. I took this call about 3 years ago but thought a refresher would not hurt. Best of all the class is being held in the city where I live. Can't beat that!!!!

The nail techs of Singapore, Malaysia & Japan came together for 2 days design throwdown with me, their talent exceeded expectations, thank you girls, hope you had as much fun as I did. Keep up the great work!
