Sex and the City Fashion Feast

Bag: Timmy Woods, Shoes:Dior

Photos: Unknown numerous sources none of which are my own.

Lately I have become OBSESSED! After months of waiting for the Sex and the City movie to debut, we fashionistas have been blessed by the paparazzi who have been busy snapping away at the brand new outfits that our girls are wearing on set. The amazing outfits that these lucky girls get to parade around in are the creation of talented and notable designers with the likes of Manolo Blahnik -made famous by the girls-, Dolce and Gabbana, Zac Posen, Prada, Blumarine, Chanel, Roberto Cavalli and an enviable pair of Dior shoes worn through out the movie (and I can even show you where to get these beauties at a fraction of the Dior price tag). Of course none of these designers clothes would look as stylish together if the amazing Patricia Field had not created such great silhouettes and unthinkable yet genius and kooky combinations of outfits. Patricia Field constructed the wardrobe for the award wining series and has, as is expected, continued on for the movie. Patricia also created the wardrobe for "The Devil Wears Prada" which was nominated for an Oscar and BAFTA Flim Award and is currently collaborating for the movie, "Confessions of a Shopaholic". Undoubtedly the awards will begin to flow in after the movie is released next month on the 30th. Sadly the movie doesn't come out in Australia till the 5th of June but if you want a sneak preview of some of the outfits used in the movie the ones above should satisfy.

Stay tuned cause tomorrow I'll be telling you how you can achieve a couple of the looks featured without the featuring price tag!!

P.S. The pictures featured are about 1/100th of the amount of my entire collection from the movie so I'll be featuring some new ones tomorrow.

Love Always xoxo

The Little Black book of Style - Nina Garcia

Image: Amazon.com

Today I went to my local Borders bookstore (the best there ever was!) and was cruising through the fashion aisle and was utterly amazed at the range and vast amount of information there was. As I was searching through the beautiful hard covered books I came across one which looked pretty new, entitled, "The Little Black Book of Style" by Nina Garcia, fashion director at Elle Magazine and judge on the popular pay TV show, Project Runway. I started to read a little of the chicly black book and was pleasantly surprised at how down to earth and funny Ms Garcia sounded. I have to admit that I am a little bit of a bookworm at heart (just ask any of my friends -they'll tell you I'm the one to go to for a good read) and I found from the small section I read that this was a very informative light read that could also by referred to in times of fashion crisis. I have unfortunately had to take a rain check on this worthwhile purchase cause just moments earlier I'd scored a couple of bargains at Country Road (which has 50% of selected stock at the moment) so I will have to wait until the bank account tops up a little more. Then you can bet your best pair of Christian Louboutin's that I'll be racing in store to get my hands on this gem so that I can give you guys a bit more a review and star rating!

Nina Garcia's "The little black book of style" can be purchased from any good book store or Amazon.com for approx. $30AUS. Please drop a comment if you've seen, read or heard of this great little book!

Tell me something I don't know! - Miranda Kerr

Miranda Kerr Courier Mail Article
Photo: The Courier Mail, p.11, April 6,2008

This morning upon the commencement of reading my Sunday newspaper (The Courier Mail) I came across a large article about my all time favourite model, Miranda Kerr! Over the past few months there has been much speculation over the Ms Kerr's love life and more specifically her relationship with Hollywood heartthrob Orlando Bloom with whom she was seen 'apartment hunting' with. Unable to keep their secret much longer after being photographed kissing (well as if that isn't a dead give away?) the pair came out about their relationship with Miranda stating, "We have been seeing each other for a few months and we are very, very happy". So there you have it boys and girls Miranda and Orlando are officially off the dating scene! Stay tuned cause I have some big news that I will be announcing shortly with relation to this leggy 23yr old and I can assure you it's going to knock your socks off, until then,

Zac Posen for Target

Designers for Target: Zac Posen -Tailored
Designers for Target: Zac Posen - Glamorous
Designers for Target:Yeojin Bae - Butterfly dress
Photos: designersfortarget.com.au

Today is a very special one for all the Zac Posen girls out there! Cause today the Zac Posen capsule collection was released nation wide in selected Target store's. Bringing some of the best high end fashion to target stores since Stella Mcartney made it fashionable through Target's 'Designers for Target' capsule collections. These collections each season are designed by top designers such as Alice McCall, Josh Goot, Gail Sorronda and Yeojin Bae. I have to admit that yes I do love these collaborations with Target and am the proud owner of the purple butterfly dress from the collection that Yeojin Bae designed in October last year. Though regretably have not had a formal enough occasion to wear it to, nevertheless though it is safely hibernating in my wardrobe waiting for an occasion where its beauty can be truly appreciated. However back to Zac, his inspiring designs include a tailored and glamorous section focusing on great fabrics , biased cut suits and red carpet worthy dresses. I unfortunately could not make it to the unveiling but you can be sure to see me hitting my local target this weekend. Until then stay tuned for more of my blogs and don't forget to check out the fantastic Zac Posen designs and past collections at http://www.designersfortarget.com.au/
