1. It was my birthday and as my friend L said "You practically got the whole fashion section at Borders!" This is true.
2. I had three AMAZING vintage finds at my local Lifeline store and the plus plus is that they don't even smell funny! (Will post pictures of them in my outfits in near future)
3. I stumbled upon two of the most amazing fashion illustrators/photographer.
4. Now I don't know where to start to explain the details of all this exciting news!!!
Ok so the vintage finds I have to say are simply Rare and they're even better because I wasn't even op shopping. I was simply going down to target with my mum because they have an underwear sale at the moment. Then on the way home after picking up some food we were walking past lifeline and my mum-yes my mum-spotted this great skirt suit and pointed it out to me. Well you can imagine my reaction now can't you? All I said was, Oh my god, WOW! So I went in and tried it on and boy is it hot or what, both the skirt and the top are in what seems to be a raw silk in a stunning mauve/grey metalic steal colour. The top part is very sharp and structured and on me was a perfect fit as a large statement/avant garde piece. The look is very Balenciaga's structure but more true to Calvin Klein's minimalism. Another one of the appeal factors of this suit is that I know it was made with quality materials as I realized that this suit was obviously made by a small couture house as the label read "Bora Couture". Knowing that there are a few newer and lesser known couture houses around Brisbane and Australia I decided to do a quick google search which lead me to discover that my great find was actually custom designed by the same designer behind Jeniffer Hawkins famous evening gown for her winning Miss Universe pageant. Now this is your cue to bring on the jelousy!
After I came out of the dressing room I spotted some great burnt orange leather boots not unlike that of which you'd see grace the feet of it girls like Alice Delall, Daisy Lowe or Lou Dillion. So as you already picked up I got them too! Last of all though as we were making our purchases at the counter-my mum had found quite a unique top that was on one of the mannequins- my mum started trawling through a number of the scarfs at the front and pulled out a large black and white scarf printed with a clock face and starry night sky which I instantly recognized as vintage Louis Vuitton -no joke- so as you can tell that was added to the till.
