Just for the record, I hate reading about new jewellery collections in magazines and I read magazines cover to cover. I also don't like looking at fine jewellery editorials unless they are ridiculously creative however I could spend ALL DAY just staring at the designs by the genius that is MANIAMANIA, created by Melanie Kamsler and Tamila Purvis.

This sneak peak at the new Spring 2011 collection is no exception either to the bossness that is maniamania. I warn you though if you do go to their respective website here you may kill your mac or whatever you are sitting at now, on account of the fact that excessive dribble kind of kills the keyboard. I warned you.

Reality does not exist except in our own little worlds.

My friends didn't realise I was wearing foundation today. Made me very happy cause I thought it was the wrong colour. However this does raise the issue of my apparent colorblindness. Maybe I was a puppy in another life?

Vogue Australia March 09.

Source: SAA
Vogue Australia March 09. Model: Abbey Lee Kershaw. Photographer: Thomas Nutzl.
Hot out of my own mail box this afternoon here is your first look at a great cover including SAA's favourite model, Abbey Lee Kershaw. The stunning image captures a lustrous looking Kershaw in the hotest blazer this season from Balmain. This issue also boasts a great editorial featuring a black and white leather clad Kate Moss, shot by Mario Sorrenti. Will have a few of these editorials up later in the week. In the meantime enjoy the beauty that Abbey is so generous in sharing and have yourself a chipper evening.

Australia. Home of the Supermodel.

This cover is INCREDIBLE! Plus there's more to it, it's a FOLD OUT, so the fun doesn't just stop there!!! I bought it the other day only because of the cover, I think this may be something I'm not meant to admit out loud (at least not near my mum). It includes SAA's favourite top models, Miranda, Catherine and Abbey. I've also been liking Elyse Taylor lately as well, however there is no way in hell that I condone the use of Sarah Stephans. Aurgh. Uck. No. Why does anyone even like her(she's on the fold out with Abbey)?
Tell me Please!

...and another one bites the dust

So here it is, Abbey falling at Rodarte:

The poor thing, I mean come on those shoes were INSANE! Everyone has been saying how crazy the shoes were this season so it's no wonder that so many girls took a tumble this season. Apparently Chanel, Natasha and Jourdan all fell this season! This could possibly be a fashion record for the number of casualties on the catwalk!!

McQueen's plot against the Models.

Images: Abbey Lee Kershaw at Alexander McQueen
Source: Frockwrtter

"As she was coming off the catwalk she began to take tiny steps as she felt she was going to faint and she did just as she came off,'' said Mrs Ward."The corset was incredibly tight but she was absolutely fine afterwards and even continued to appear at more show.''

This was the comment made by our favorite Aussie model, Abbey Lee's agent, after fainting at the recent Alexander McQueen show. Now I of course wasn't there to witness the catastrophe however frockwriter appears to have a number of eye witnesses including Ali Stephens who came running out to her mother asking her if she saw what had happened after saying that Abbey was alright.

One witness said,
"When she was coming to the end [of the runway], back near the [entrance] ramp, I could tell she was having difficulties, because her steps were getting shorter and shorter, they were more like baby steps. I was reading her face and I could see 'struggle' all over it and I was thinking, 'She's not going to make it'. But then she made it to the top of the animals and I thought she was OK, that's why I turned my back on her to to go back to the main room."

To put all of this in perspective, take a look at these painful photos taken backstage of fellow model Jourdan Dunn. Dunn had to be stitched into her catsuit and was in obvious agony during the process.Images: Jourdan Dunn backstage Alexander McQueen

It does not take a genius to realize that the girls in this show were forced to endure much more than the usual feet crippling, vertiginous heels and that any man who wants to force women back into the bone crushing corsets of decades past, is a completely delusional moron! Yes that's right, I just called Alexander "the great" McQueen a moron, and until he decides to be a little more realistic about his approach to women's bodies, I most definitely will not be supporting anything that he produces!

Now that I've had my rant, go ahead and tell me what you opinion is!

The Cover? Atrocious. Inside? Better.

Alice Burdeu on the July edition of Australian Vogue 2008

Abbey Lee Kershaw inside Australian Vogue, July 08

Here it is. You're exclusive first sneak peek at the July 08 Australian Vogue cover as provided by mwa one day ahead of schedule for all you gals that don' get it subscription! And may I just say here and now that I think it is the most boring and ugly cover that I have ever seen vogue do! I mean 1. Alice Burdeu on the cove, AGAIN. Wasn't it bad enough the first time! Don't get me wrong though I'm actually pretty much biased -I LOVE THEM- towards all red headed models being a fellow patriotic red head myself but for some reason Alice just doen't cut the cake for me. However I will let down my defense for a moment here and admit that she does look good with the one shot of her inside but that is the only time I've ever seen her look up to scratch. Oh and secondly the whole close up thing on the front cover? Kirstie Clements take note, NEVER AGAIN! Enough said. Luckily though the disappointment stops short at the cover and with all gag reflexes aside you should be able to turn over the cover-maybe with some gloves- and begin to enjoy the fantastic story on 4 of Australia's next supermodels making it over in New York, Paris and Milan. The lucky girls in order of appearence are Alice Burdeu, Abbey Lee Kershaw(well der) Stephanie Carta(even with the whole skinny issue surrounding her) and the gorgeous new favourite of mine, Skye Stracke. Another beauty to look forward to is the quickly rising star, Zippora Sevens who co-models in the shoot entitled, Laced with Luxury. Excited yet? But don't worry it gets better-if you believe me- because then we have a much appreciated appearance from the girl herself, Carolina Trentini in the shoot called Fantasy Blooms shot by Steven Miesel and stolen from some other vogue(because I swear i've seen the images before) but unfortunately it musn't have come from American Vogue because in it yes I see Trentini but I don't see any Jumpin? So either she caved in to criticism or it just didn't come from the pages of Ms. Wintour's Vogue.

Either way you should be getting hungry for more by now, so I guess you can just sit tight and wait till tomorrow to catch your dinner, whilst I'll be happily eating mine!

Abbey Lee - Rise of the Next Supermodel

Photo: Greg Kadel for Numero
Ok so I need to go to sleep but I thought before I go to bed I'd better give you all something to think about whilst you sleep your way through the night ....boring. Moving on, lately I have been so excited by Australian model, Abby Lee Kershaw's big debut in the recent fall collections walking for notable designers Ralph Lauren, Gucci, Christian Dior, Alexander McQueen, Louis Vuitton, John Galliano and more of the like. Hailed in no.1 in style.com's top 10 upcoming models Abbey was first discovered by the Girlfriend magazine's 'Girlfriend model search' which launched the careers of other supermodels Miranda Kerr and Catherine McNeil; my two favourite Aussie girls! Both of whom have gone onto become two of the most covetable and hard to get models in the business. Abbey has been a clear favourite of mine ever since I saw on the pages of my -then idolised- Girlfriend magazine a few years ago in her cute dotty number. So all I can say is that I can't wait to see her in blossom into the gorgeous supermodel just like her Girlfriend alumni Miranda and Catherine because if her current CV is anything to go by we can very well expect no less than supermodel status from this beautiful Aussie girl!
