The Cover? Atrocious. Inside? Better.

Alice Burdeu on the July edition of Australian Vogue 2008

Abbey Lee Kershaw inside Australian Vogue, July 08

Here it is. You're exclusive first sneak peek at the July 08 Australian Vogue cover as provided by mwa one day ahead of schedule for all you gals that don' get it subscription! And may I just say here and now that I think it is the most boring and ugly cover that I have ever seen vogue do! I mean 1. Alice Burdeu on the cove, AGAIN. Wasn't it bad enough the first time! Don't get me wrong though I'm actually pretty much biased -I LOVE THEM- towards all red headed models being a fellow patriotic red head myself but for some reason Alice just doen't cut the cake for me. However I will let down my defense for a moment here and admit that she does look good with the one shot of her inside but that is the only time I've ever seen her look up to scratch. Oh and secondly the whole close up thing on the front cover? Kirstie Clements take note, NEVER AGAIN! Enough said. Luckily though the disappointment stops short at the cover and with all gag reflexes aside you should be able to turn over the cover-maybe with some gloves- and begin to enjoy the fantastic story on 4 of Australia's next supermodels making it over in New York, Paris and Milan. The lucky girls in order of appearence are Alice Burdeu, Abbey Lee Kershaw(well der) Stephanie Carta(even with the whole skinny issue surrounding her) and the gorgeous new favourite of mine, Skye Stracke. Another beauty to look forward to is the quickly rising star, Zippora Sevens who co-models in the shoot entitled, Laced with Luxury. Excited yet? But don't worry it gets better-if you believe me- because then we have a much appreciated appearance from the girl herself, Carolina Trentini in the shoot called Fantasy Blooms shot by Steven Miesel and stolen from some other vogue(because I swear i've seen the images before) but unfortunately it musn't have come from American Vogue because in it yes I see Trentini but I don't see any Jumpin? So either she caved in to criticism or it just didn't come from the pages of Ms. Wintour's Vogue.

Either way you should be getting hungry for more by now, so I guess you can just sit tight and wait till tomorrow to catch your dinner, whilst I'll be happily eating mine!

Love Always xoxo

Anna says Jump!

Caroline Trentini in American Vogue's November 2006 Photographed by David Sims

With all the hype around Caroline Trentini's Jumping I just wanted to clear up S.A.A.'s view on the whole issue. First of all Caroline Trentini is a fantastic model and for all of those people out there who think that she should stop jumping in Vogue editorials, YOU ARE BORING!!! Each shot that Ms. Trentini is jumping in is always different from the last, she mixes it up and no two shots are ever the same which is more than I can say for a lot of the girls out there posing up a storm. Caroline does not do overkill which is why we should be fanatical about her jumping. Not only are her poses in mid air always different but they are never BORING like many stills can be. Trentini always has a changing expression or emotion on her face which adds to the clothes and the vibe of the shoot; which invariably always makes the pictures that much more enjoyable to look at (not that the clothes aren't good enough reasons).

So if you are one of those people who doesn't like jumpers, GO HOME!! Because as far as I'm concerned Trentini is one of the most creative girls with her poses that never ever go un-noticed which really in the end is what the fashion ed's are looking for. Derrr!!

Since when do I wear spring in autumn-Vogue Australia?

Upon beginning the April edition of Australian Vogue I was instantly greeted with numerous pictures of floral clad models in a multitude of colours bright enough to put a tranny's make up covered face to shame! Which confused me because in Australia April means Autumn which ultimately equals 'almost' winter fashion, so why I ask is vogue covering the current spring/summer fashion which is only valid in America at the moment? This has really confused/annoyed me because I have been holding off reading April's edition until I had finished all of the urgent items on my to do list and then when I finally get around to reading it I find that there is only a small proportion of the magazine that is reflective of the upcoming autumn/winter trends like black leather jackets, knee high socks and dominatrix inspired accessories. Thank goodness I've been doing a little bit more of my own research into this winter's trends otherwise I'd be a little behind in organising what key pieces to buy for this winter had I solely relied on this month's vogue to get me started. But having said that maybe I'm just being a pedantic cause it is only April and I guess I have to admit I'm a little obsessive compulsive at the moment about organization!

But apart from that minor fault the April edition of Aussie vogue it is a total keeper cause this month includes a great Indian inspired spread featuring Aussie supermodel Catherine McNeil and a fantastic High street fashion lift out; so tell me what your thoughts are on this by leaving me a comment cause I promise to reply asap!!!
