Two of a Kind

Why is it that the one most important social event of the year on a girls calendar can be ruined by what your best friend is wearing! Today I found out that the most beautiful and expensive dress I have ever bought/worn was bought/worn by my best friend for the same most important social event of the year! This amazing black Leona Edminston dress is now the dress which is to be worn by my best friend of whom I am to be spending the whole night and photo's with. The photo's will be viewed by over a thousand girls in the week following the event only to have them pity, laugh at and whisper about me behind my back all because I have the same dress as my friend. This dress is the cause of soooooo much anger, angst and emotion. So why let this small detail ruin my whole evening, instead I am going to embrace the fact that both my friend and I have impeccable taste and instead voluntarily have a photo of just her and I together to show how hot and differently we can both pull off the same dress!!
I hope everyone who ever encounters the same sartorial dilemma can move forward and embrace it learn from it and grow from it rather than sulking around because at the end of the day so long as you look Damn hot, that's all that matters!!!!

Love always.xoxo

Abbey Lee - Rise of the Next Supermodel

Photo: Greg Kadel for Numero
Ok so I need to go to sleep but I thought before I go to bed I'd better give you all something to think about whilst you sleep your way through the night ....boring. Moving on, lately I have been so excited by Australian model, Abby Lee Kershaw's big debut in the recent fall collections walking for notable designers Ralph Lauren, Gucci, Christian Dior, Alexander McQueen, Louis Vuitton, John Galliano and more of the like. Hailed in no.1 in style.com's top 10 upcoming models Abbey was first discovered by the Girlfriend magazine's 'Girlfriend model search' which launched the careers of other supermodels Miranda Kerr and Catherine McNeil; my two favourite Aussie girls! Both of whom have gone onto become two of the most covetable and hard to get models in the business. Abbey has been a clear favourite of mine ever since I saw on the pages of my -then idolised- Girlfriend magazine a few years ago in her cute dotty number. So all I can say is that I can't wait to see her in blossom into the gorgeous supermodel just like her Girlfriend alumni Miranda and Catherine because if her current CV is anything to go by we can very well expect no less than supermodel status from this beautiful Aussie girl!

My Introduction to Neverland

Dear All,
As you may be aware this is to be my debut into the limitless world of Blogging ; which I have been waiting for weeks to begin. Why, you ask? Because the busy life of a student involves studying, extra curricular activities, assignments and work experience which leaves little time for other enjoyments! Well work experience is yet to fill up my short half semester break. However this is not why I endeavored to discover blogger.com. I have started to further enhance my education, pursuit and hopefully to share a little more on everything I know, want to learn and experience with regards to everything fashion industry related. i.e. models, materials, designers, what's in vogue, what's definitely not and what should be!

This blog is also here to aid furthering my vocabulary, writing experience/ability and journalistic skills. So here's to a crazy, informative and highly entertaining deluge into my views on everything fashion industry related!!

love always S Alexandra A

Nailpro USA Feb 2008

I always tell my peers and students how amazing that 10 fingernails could bring the world together across continents. People of all ages and background coming together to share their passion, knowledge, earn recognition and encourage one another to excel in this artform.
I'd like to thank Maureen for her ever ready support in letting me use her as hand model for the winning nails.
Nails on the Cover of Nailpro done by Viv Simmonds of Australia which I will have the honor of meeting next week here in Singapore.

Unfinished inspiration...

The base of the nails were painted with many different colors and layers using Nfu.Oh opal polishes and I handpainted the artwork on top of it. I might just add some 3D effects with colored acrylic, maybe not just yet...

I said I would wear it :)

After a long vacation with short nails no enhancements, I finally came back and did a set (2 designs on each hand) for myself for 2008. Just a note tho, gel nails are big in Israel and I see many girls wearing gel enhancements. It's really an eye opener. They wear it plain in pink and white patterns. My left hand design is inspired by the pink and white glass rose look and the left hand is inspired by sea shells texture and iridiscent colors. The shape is a combi of stilleto and oval nails. [special credit to my 9yr old daughter for taking these shots]
