Today is a very special one for all the Zac Posen girls out there! Cause today the Zac Posen capsule collection was released nation wide in selected Target store's. Bringing some of the best high end fashion to target stores since Stella Mcartney made it fashionable through Target's 'Designers for Target' capsule collections. These collections each season are designed by top designers such as Alice McCall, Josh Goot, Gail Sorronda and Yeojin Bae. I have to admit that yes I do love these collaborations with Target and am the proud owner of the purple butterfly dress from the collection that Yeojin Bae designed in October last year. Though regretably have not had a formal enough occasion to wear it to, nevertheless though it is safely hibernating in my wardrobe waiting for an occasion where its beauty can be truly appreciated. However back to Zac, his inspiring designs include a tailored and glamorous section focusing on great fabrics , biased cut suits and red carpet worthy dresses. I unfortunately could not make it to the unveiling but you can be sure to see me hitting my local target this weekend. Until then stay tuned for more of my blogs and don't forget to check out the fantastic Zac Posen designs and past collections at http://www.designersfortarget.com.au/

Anna Della Russo - My new style icon

Photo:Scott Schuman
Continuing on from my last blog which was primarily focused on the April edition of Australian Vogue; there was a two page picture feature devoted to the honorary Anna Della Russo. I have seen many pictures of her captured by Scott Schuman for his blog The Sartorialist (thesartorialist.blogspot.com -an important blog on any fashionista's list) before but never actually known who she was and all the whilst adoring admiring and coveting her sense of style and fashion wardrobe (only to find out she has an allowance given to her just for clothing!). Of course I could gather that she was someone important in the fashion world maybe and editor or something...and I was right.
But what really struck a cord with me was the amazing way she pulled off young 20-30yr old women's fashion as though it was designed for a 40yr old mature woman; her eclectic mix of tailored work wear(ahem MaxMara) and funky short hemmed Balmain dresses combine to make a wardrobe envied by any self proclaimed fashion addict and a presence only emitted by a true style icon.
All this and she's only 40!Though it must be mentioned that she has the figure of a 20 something yr old model and the constant side swept glossy hair of a new born. Because of these things I must say that Anna Della Russo is my current style muse and as long as Mr Schuman can continue to create inspiring pictures of this Italian stylist and former editor she will continue to inspire a generation of women to come.

I'm absolutely loving the elongated nail bed and creating a twist to the french nails with colored acrylics.

Stilletos rocks in 2007/2008 and I've weathered through 3 sets in 2 months.

Since when do I wear spring in autumn-Vogue Australia?

Upon beginning the April edition of Australian Vogue I was instantly greeted with numerous pictures of floral clad models in a multitude of colours bright enough to put a tranny's make up covered face to shame! Which confused me because in Australia April means Autumn which ultimately equals 'almost' winter fashion, so why I ask is vogue covering the current spring/summer fashion which is only valid in America at the moment? This has really confused/annoyed me because I have been holding off reading April's edition until I had finished all of the urgent items on my to do list and then when I finally get around to reading it I find that there is only a small proportion of the magazine that is reflective of the upcoming autumn/winter trends like black leather jackets, knee high socks and dominatrix inspired accessories. Thank goodness I've been doing a little bit more of my own research into this winter's trends otherwise I'd be a little behind in organising what key pieces to buy for this winter had I solely relied on this month's vogue to get me started. But having said that maybe I'm just being a pedantic cause it is only April and I guess I have to admit I'm a little obsessive compulsive at the moment about organization!

But apart from that minor fault the April edition of Aussie vogue it is a total keeper cause this month includes a great Indian inspired spread featuring Aussie supermodel Catherine McNeil and a fantastic High street fashion lift out; so tell me what your thoughts are on this by leaving me a comment cause I promise to reply asap!!!
